What is a Car Battery?
Your car battery provides power to the starter, which starts your engine. Your car’s battery powers the starter and the vehicle’s electrical system.
Signs & Symptoms that indicate your battery has gone bad:
Low voltage or cold-cranking amperage, as measured by a battery analyzer.
Slow engine cranking when starting the car.
The Check Engine Light appears on the dashboard.
A "rotten eggs" smell that emanates from the battery.
Severe corrosion on the battery terminals due to a fluid leak.
Understanding your battery test results: We test the voltage (V) and cold cranking amps (CCA) of your battery using our automated battery analyzer. The voltage and CCA numbers indicate how much power your battery is able to deliver when you want to start the engine. Batteries lose their ability to deliver power with age, so underperformance in our automated test is the surest sign that your battery may be at the end of its life and need replacement. Typically, batteries that test results with under 12.6V may need recharging and batteries delivering under 12.3V need to be replaced.

Batteries typically last between 3-5 years, depending greatly on driving conditions and your use of the vehicle's electrical system.
